I got a quote of about $500 so I decided to give it a go. Took the better part of a day with some help from my son. It turned out pretty good, at least for my daily driver.
This was helpful for me. The metal poles are bows and have to be in the correct order. They should be color coded. You may be able to do a google search to find out the correct order.

If I go the hex route it will be the same shouldered bolt only hex. My real concern is that I cannot locate one as I've had no luck so far. The bolt was mis-threaded from the factory and after the torx stripped out I had to bump it with the air chisel to get it out and re-tap the hole. Any idea...
Update, I was unable to find any springs but did come up with a suitable repair. I took a steel roll pin and used it as a sleeve, then brazed the two broken pieces together with 45% silver. If the break is in a bend in the spring, the roll pin can be heated and bent to shape. Worked great...
I stripped the driver's side retractable seat belt bolt on my '72 Satellite trying to remove it. I've gotten the bolt out and would like some opinions on a replacement. I would rather put a grade 8 hex head instead of the torx back in there. Has anyone else swapped these out? Thanks.
I am getting the front bench seat on my 72 satellite recovered and need some replacement springs for the back of the seat on the drivers side. Anyone know where I may be able to find some or a suitable replacement? Thanks.
I was thinking about doing the headliner replacement in my '72 and was wondering if anyone knows if the windshield and back glass have to come out. I know it would probably be easier but I sure hate to pull them if I don't need to. Thanks for any help!
