The manual toggle switch is finicky. I have with mine.

I found with mine. It was between the headlight switch and headlight rotate toggle. And in some cases the relay in the dash sticks. I tap it with a screwdriver. But I do have a gremlin in mine where if a positive wire is plugged in it will drain the battery There not fun.

There should be 4 phillips screws that need to be removed. I think 1 on top 3 on the bottom. Pull the door off. Three screws hold the ring in place. Pull the headlight. There are nubs on the head light that fit into the bucket.

You have a bare wire exposed I bet. And it arc’d Does everything work in the column? It may not be a wire. But a brass tab , check the horn ***. As well as the signal lite switch

Does the automatic choke stay closed after starting? Hold the choke open with a pen or something that wont fall inside then try it .

You are aware the headlight switch can be turned left and right to dim down to nothing or brighten . When the park or headlight knob is pulled? Just asking.
