superbird jack handle -is this one of em???

It really does point to just how special these cars really were and realising that the factory engineers actually envisioned people driving these cars on the roads and possibly getting a flat tyre. Realising this they decide to sell the car with two jacking systems - this would be absurd today -...

superbird jack handle -is this one of em???

No bumper at the front to hook the bumper jack to I guess. To get the front wheel off you needed the scissor jack under the chassis?

5 or 6 speed transmission for 69 Superbee

If you want to keep the A833 why not look at a Gear Vendor unit.

5 or 6 speed transmission for 69 Superbee

Whatever you do a decent V8 motor only needs 5 gears. I have been in 2 or 3 six speed cars and 1 gear was no use at all - extra money for nothing gained IMO.

    WIX Oil Filters, for 383.

The 51068 can be used on the small block also. I use one on my car that has the factory 90 degree filter adapter.

1970 Roadrunner horn issues. Pictures attached

With the battery connected and the steering wheel removed as in your first pics you should be able to operate the horns(if wired correctly) by earthing the horn ring contact to the steering column shaft with a short jump wire. This will pull in the relay and the horns will sound. Note. The...

OK. I have never noticed that before. Another thing to store away.

1970 Roadrunner horn issues. Pictures attached

Whats that black ring mounted to the steering wheel - should not be there. The silver ring you show in your second pic mounts direct to the steering wheel with little screws through the black horn switch. The column mounted switch is earth for the horn relay actuation coil.

    Muffler Recommendation

I agree with Brewerzer67 the Borla's are the best. I have the Dynomax on my Challenger and the tone is awesome - people tell me the car sounds great. But they are a bit drony between 2000 and 2800 rpm - after or before that they are OK. Borla are well worth the extra money.

    Power steering pump help needed!

440 Source does a kit to change to a Saginaw pump if you are interested. Their pump is a rebuild but it is only around $100 My car came with a Federal but general consensus is the Saginaw pump is far more reliable. I bought the kit off them and it all worked out fine.

Anyone make small block valley pan ?

I think for the small block they call them lifter baffles. Moroso and Milodon do them for the engine. If you want to block the exhaust crossover some gaskets came with the bits to do it or use little fabricated bits of aluminium plate.

    489 diff question

They do clank around a bit but it should not be really excessive. Put some weight on the wheels or apply the emergency brake then try the pinion. It should move about 1/8 to 1/10 th of a turn - approximately not being exact here.

Who knows Chrysler small blocks well ?

Glad to hear you are all good now. The timing can be quite a bit out on an engine with lower compression ratios and mild cams and they do not play up like a hotter motor would. Now you have the timing right it will be a lot better when you test drive it.

Who knows Chrysler small blocks well ?

No do not re position anything as in your post you indicated the engine runs well. You are just going to move the timing mark nothing else. The engine does not care where the mark is on the 360 degrees just that it is the right place and on number 1 cylinder.

Who knows Chrysler small blocks well ?

You can use the other timer pointer if the drivers one cannot be seen when power steer etc is bolted up. Put the engine on TDC using the correct timing mark. Check you are in the right spot. Paint an orange line on the pulley where it lines up with the zero mark on the other tab. You can time...

    Fuel Tank Venting Fuel

Thanks yes I was involved/replied in that post. He also has a replacement tank but I am unsure if it is the same as mine. Some repro parts are sub standard compared to the OE parts and I was just reaching out to see if this was another dud repro.

    Fuel Tank Venting Fuel

Thanks the first thing I did was pass a tig welding wire through the vents. I tried swapping the tubes but unfortunately did not make much difference. I am curious to know is the original design is no good - or are the repro tanks not right somewhere?

    Fuel Tank Venting Fuel

I have a gas tank in my 1968 GTX that I have had a problem with gas puking out the vent tubes. It seems others also have the same issue. Mine is a replacement tank and I was wanting to ask is this a problem with the way the tanks are manufactured? or do cars with an original tanks suffer from...
