Your application may be different since this has a vapor return.

What fuel pump are you running? Those carbs work well with a pump in the 4 to 5.5psi range.

From a personal standpoint, I use an avs2 for local shows and cruising in order to preserve the highly restored original 4429 used only for shows such as Carlisle. Best of both worlds. Believe me, I'm all for correctness.

You might be ok with an M3672 with a 4-5.5psi range suitable for your avs.

What carb are you running?

4934 1970 340 auto. The hot idle compensator was used on a/c applications.

Since that's not the original carb to the car, I would look into getting a new Edelbrock 1406 or 1906 if you want to retain the electric choke.
