Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

The v-s were for 440/hemi cars. I'm not sure about the R/T style t bars being available on a 383 car, but you never know what odd stuff went out the door. Edit: according to the dealer sales book the .92 bars were exclusively for the R/T.

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

If in fact the vapor return lines are original, in conjunction with the A/C, it can be assumed that it was originally a 440 R/T car.

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

What's interesting is that the Coronet R/T had a WS23 VIN in '67, but the Charger didn't, even when ordered with the same 440 Mag.

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

Ok, post 37 he said he looked up a vin decoder. I thought he may have had one based on that. That, and I'm trying to get 3 things done on the car at the same time I'm reading posts. :)

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

That's incorrect. 68 had the same stamping on the trunk lip under weatherstripping that's also found on the radiator support......including mine.

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

66-70 were XS29. You're correct, not all Chargers were the S special price class. Just using mine as an example along with the 29 designation.

Establishing a VIN number from the order number on radiator core support

As stated the numbers stamped on the trunk lip & core support should match the shipping order number which will appear on the fender tag. The B indicates a Hamtramck build. If your original engine and trans were stamped, it would read 8Bxxxxxx, having the last 6 digits match the VIN.

    68 Charger R/T question

Bumblebee stripes were standard on R/T's. They could be deleted by the person ordering the car if they didn't want them.

    68 Charger R/T question

Yes, I think the non-R/T's were smaller in diameter.
