What specifically needs to be restored on yours, the pot metal housings? Paint? Lenses? If you're willing to spend the money you can get complete new assemblies.
I have only ever seen the Charger script emblem on the roof. Maybe at the time of printing in the summer of '67 it may have been the original intention to have both, but was changed during early production. Just a guess.

Just a personal opinion, the 68-70 Coronet body looks good either way, but the Chargers from the same era look better with vinyl, as a vast majority of buyers of the 68 felt as well.
