The shifter is a turd! I have one and can see how it will kill people. Ive never had to look at the gear selector to know what gear my car is in! The problem with this shifter is there is no physical relation to the shifter location and the gear its in! say what you will, its a failure.

Do you have some more detail on your original fasteners? Looking through my AMK products catalog for bolts, all I see are 5/16 X 1 1/8 carb bolts in the H-head, otherwise you have to go to 3/8 x 1 water neck bolts, and don't think yours are 3/8. Also some detail on the nuts with fixed washer.
