What was the name of the Twisty Narrow PKY? Dad used to take it to Myrtle Ave. Ran that bitch with Joe , Puckered all the way. Made for Horse and Buggy I think.
Cross Bay Blvd. Didn't get into Brooklyn much. We would start at Alley Pond Park to meet up and then head out to the Jones Beach roads. No cops at night and the world was our Oyster Or Clam. If you know where APs upper lot was we would rally race the walking paths at NIGHT, in a Hemi R/R. There...
Yeah Hemi-its is a cool guy. Promised Me a ride in his Beast if I ever get back to LI. Floral Park born and raised. Used to race with my Buddy in his 68 Black Hemi R/R on the Clearview before it was finished. That was a wild scene trailering rails in and NYPD could care less. Back when NYC was...
One of our members , cant remember his name is from the Queens area. He drives a early B Blown Hemi car and goes to alot of shows on the Island and cruises. Races it also. Also think he has or is in a group ( L.I. needs a Drag Strip). He would be the one to get ahold of. Also the National...
I just installed the Competition / Super Stock springs on My A-Body. They are a one size fits all A and B-Body. On the B you need to use a longer front hanger. They don't come with the rear shackle bushings. They did settle about an inch. They are also side specific, go on Summits site and you...
If It ran good then it should run good after a refresh. At 11.5 with an iron head you will need race fuel to get the most out of it though. What did Dad used to run? Pics would be nice of the old Girl, before and after tear down please.
Sounds like it like 52 at idle, 9 inch at idle ported, you must have the throttle blades cracked open a bit. If A/T how is it in gear? Stick it dont matter. Sounds Bitchen either way. Congrats.
Just had this gifted from a Buddy. He was friends with Arlen in his declining years here in Deming. Another Bud got his MAC tool box full. If those tools could talk. I think Mrs Vanke is still around.
IMO you dont need that high pressure. Takes HP to turn the pump and stresses the shaft, gear and bushing. I run the standard Melling pump with a Black high pressure spring. 25 psi hot at idle 60 at cruise with 20-50. Race engine yes but 70 @ idle is to much for a cruiser.
Our local track just reopened. The $ they get from entry fees are going back for improvements like a new timing system. Right now it is just arm drop starts. @ $20 to race it may take awhile but its a start. $25K for the system.
