I think the 66-67 B-Body has a smaller wheel well than a 68 and up. That said I think a 15x7 with a 255 will fit. Put the bare rim on and do some measuring. I used a 15x8 with a 4 1/2 back space from Summit with a 275 and have plenty of room on my 68. Most chain tire stores like Discount wont...
How about running an air bag between the spring and frame? I have used a single bag on the right rear to preload on a coil spring car, Worked well. You can run 2 bags and plumb separatly the lines. Even on my Chevelle that came with a factory installed trailer tow package they are not...
When the column is taken apart that plastic post is broken off. Sacrificial part that is unobtainium .. Use a sheet metal screw or a 3 pin switch on the trans. Yes it is easier to drop the column to put the screw in for those of Us with fat hands.
I was lucky to find a Hughes FM-24 on the return rack @ Summit in Reno. For $50 it was worth the gamble and I am happy with the 2000 stall behind my Warmed up 440. FM= fuel miser.

I am using 275-60s on a 15x8 1/2 slotted mags on my 68. Tight fit that needed some wheel well trimming. To get them off I need to jack up at the frame rail. Dont know if your car has a smaller well. I think you should be good with the 8in and a 4 1/2 back space. How about putting the bare rim on...
