Hi all, thanks for the comments. Love your car davek. Car is on the rotisserie. So pleased that the body is in great condition . We hope to use a hot wash water blaster this weekend to remove all the dirt. We then will remove all the underseal. Got a body guy coming to look tomorrow

Are you ready for a real weird one? Random NO spark from a MP electronic ignition system despite numerous parts swapped around...

I just thought I'd post an update to this. I swapped in a distributor sold by Rick Ehrenberg. It is known as the Hi Rev 7500. It looks like a stock Mopar electronic unit. I put an FBO plate in it to limit the timing advance to 14 degrees but it ended up with 15. I have the initial set to 20 and...

    65 BB 4spd wagon

A little update on that starter bolt touching the header that I forgot to mention after that install, and is fairly important. My flywheel is a 143 tooth, causing the starter to be moved further out into the collector. Whereas a 130 tooth combo may clear Mo better. Sorry I didn't get back...

Road trips: They highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the car.

...over the place. Now, I haven't had the intention to go from my place in California to Maine but I want it to be able to if I were so inclined. *Sometimes in the name of reliability, you have to make compromises. Things we choose in the name of performance, appearance or cost savings may...

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

I learned about main bodies being warped back in the 70's. For sure they cause poor running and no matter what you try, just can't get them to run right due to internal leaks. When I first flattened them out, I used a single cut file. Later on I had an aluminum block made that would just fit on...

The best place for Pertronix products.....is on the shelf at Pertronix. If you want a better ign system than the Chrys ECU, use the GM 4 pin HEI module. See post #26 & others.

    Is it camping season yet?

Some great camping stories. Something I sorely miss from my earlier life in Minnesota up til about 28. Then getting a corporate transfer by way of Chicago first to Colorado where I lived for 10 years. Not having any friends for awhile - during late spring to mid-fall I spent much of my free time...

Going to toss my hat into the YouTube world...

It's a hard road to get traction without content that titillates the masses. Niche video clips are not good for ratings. My advice is to snub your nose at the Anti-Vertical Party (lol....K-Dog) and do a couple of funny 'Shorts' to get the channel some fast ground.

    Replacing Master Cylinder

Hold the head with a wrench. Blast the nuts with penetrant. Break out the 1/2" drive impact, an extension, and a wobble socket. They'll either come loose or twist off. In which case you can drive 'em out with a punch and replace with new. Don't fight it. Years of working on stuff as much as 80...
