You will have no problem finding mechanical parts - they shared everything back then. Body names: G - Daytona. P - Shadow/Sundance. J - LeBaron coupe/convertible. K - Aries/Reliant. A - Spirit/Acclaim. Even the first gen minivans used the same powertrains and front suspension bits...
One of the reasons I chose 1960s Imperials for drivers in the 90s were that mechanical parts were readily available at most auto parts stores. I fixed stuff in the parking lot more than a few times. I liked the fact that the cars were exotic looking even in that era, but the mechanical stuff...
So, I've been seeing a large range of prices for just the 4 speed transmission (ranging from $600 to $1,500). I also imagine finding every single piece needed to install this in an automatic car would be expensive and a real challenge. What is a reasonable price to pay for a complete used kit...
Hi, I pulled these off a set of 69 Coronet/Super Bee fenders, may fit other years or cars ?? Got the factory seals as well. One side will definitely need repaired, the other is good. I know they're not the best but way better then nothing, $80 + the stamps
AWD = mo' maintenance...and mo' fuel (heavier). And, they look like they have a lift kit to me (just sayin'). But, you do you. It'll be column shift, possibly no console (depending what they left in it), but one nice bonus (unless they changed it) is when you hit the "traction off" button...it's...
I have heard this point/argument made as well. I would be interested to hear the arguments on both sides.
I am keeping this car 100% stock, so for me it is less about better or worse, but about restoration.
The gauges on the right are angled like the stock ones, tilted slightly to the left. Often times, I have to shift my head over a bit to look squarely at the gauges to read them straight on.
It is actually more of a semi-gloss. Satin is a bit more toward the mat finish. That is why I'd call it semi-gloss When I changed colors from gold to black I ended up spraying a cover coat of Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric Specialty Coating (mat black) followed by a light coat of the gloss. Used...
Where I read that said file the stock grooves deeper starting a little off crank bearing surface down to edge. Wouldn't go crazy where it tapers down on edge. The process of thrust bearing install, I install crank and caps thrush main cap slightly tight but will shift when I take a large...
I'm anxious to read any and all comments others have to add.
It is smart to build your car with parts that are not exotic and rare because finding a replacement when on the road may be difficult. A stock type alternator or drive belt can usually be bought at any large chain auto parts store...
