This is a “floatless” sending unit, still has a float, but it’s kept in a tube, less likely to get hung up, used by Mercedes, and in airplanes if I’m not mistaken, and common in the aftermarket
I have nothing but respect and admiration for those brave guys & gals who served under difficult circumstances.

The pictures I take from the damper now that I noticed has machined marks every 90 degrees, so it says here

Also the lower mark ends about 1/2 inch from were the damper ends also stated above.

Today had to swapp springs around so it had enough coil bind clearance for the increased intake lift. The Pac 1224 springs will take .850". However I run them at 1.950" instead of the recommended 2.00". So each spring was removed and individually checked. Even though Pac lists bind at 1.100" 8...
Most non-factory undercoating drilled holes and used plugs. Factory undercoating comes off with heat and an assortment of scrapers, knives, and brushes.
sometimes moisture gets trapped under it and makes matters worse....... I never seen this with factory undercoat
most northeast cars were already rusty in the 80s
