Hello Sir!
I´m interested in your build thread to see the final solution with the spring relocation but I can really not find the thread... Can you please help me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Hello all, I wanted to be sure I sealed in the right places before starting the final bodywork. In particular, (1) the seams at the top of the rockers, (2) the seams where the quarters attach to the door pillars and (3) the seams where the quarters attach to the trunk gutters. I was going by the...
Found a pic of the rear main cap. The slop you see on it was also stuck in the oil pickup. I have no clue how it wormed its way in, but it did. Or, maybe something inside worked its way out. Who knows...

I converted it from a 4 door to a 3 door. Quote from MCG editor, once the paint was on the converted side you honestly couldn't (and still can't)...
I'll take a wild guess and say his "rebuild" may not have been extensive. I'll say possibly the crank was worn, he put standard bearings in it and now you have a lot of clearance. Not really a problem. The stock M63 pump may not have enough capacity. It's summertime, fill it with Valvoline VR1...
Disconnect the battery while the door is open for hours, pull the front seat out.
Throw a few moving blankets or outdoor furniture cushions on the floor.
It really helps and it's worth the little bit of extra effort.
We worked with some Aussies in VN back in '68. Good guys, but when they spoke to each other, it was like another language.
Couldn't understnad half of what they were saying.
Happy ANZAC Day.
I find it very hard to believe that a rear main seal got past a bearing and into the pan. If anything oil pressure would keep it away from getting into a bearing. The clearance is to close. Valve seals is what most likely caused your oil starvation.
A stiffer spring is probably not going to resolve the OP's "corner pop" issue.
That's likely a mounting adjustment at the fender.....and it's a PITA to get 100% right involving some counter-intuitive movements.
