I see Rock Auto lists the same fuel pump for '71-'72 318 and 340 engines (i.e. Carter M6866). Did the factory equip them the same also when new? Thank you.

Evidently the factory Thermo-Quad equipped 1973 340 (intake manifold casting #3671918) used a thermostatic choke along with an electric wire that attached to a solid state "controller" that assisted in opening the choke a little quicker than from crossover heat alone. Common knowledge/experience...
The fuel gauge failed again on the '72 Satellite Sebring Plus. Last time is was the float. This time I have a new/larger pick-up (photo 1) and 3/8" to 5/16" adaptor (photo 2) I am thinking about installing (see photo).
The pickup has provisions for a 1/4" return line which I will need to plug...
I might be swapping out the 5/16' line fuel tank pickup for a 3/8" fuel line pickup in the '72 Satellite Sebring Plus. I see online hose adaptor samples in either stainless steel or brass. I was just naturally going to purchase brass, but now with a choice I'm not sure the best way to go? Thank you.
I was curious who runs this type of intake manifold either at the strip or on the street on their 383 (any brand intake, either 180 or 360 design)? Never seen one on a car, although back in the day I was tempted to put one on my parents factory new '71 383 Road Runner.
