Just got done. Instead of using the Federal pump and old style box I used a Saginaw pump and a box from a 74 A-body. Aside for minor clearance of the bolt holes to the K-frame and juggling pulleys pretty straight forward. The column was a bit tedious. I have the B PS shaft but it is a bit short...
Howdy Folks, Finally doing PS on the 68. I am using a newer style box and a Saginaw pump. Box went in fine with a little grinding on the K-frame holes. Went from the single groove crank pulley to a 2 grove. I think the pulley is for the Federal type pump and the Sag pump belt needs another grove...
How do you screwup a ball joint? Well you reverse engineer it in China thats how. Same upper that has been used from like 62 to the mid 70s. I should know better. Pics are the OEM, China junk and O Reillys. Got a case opened with the Bay.
I am in need of 2 rear drums for my 8 3/4 11x2 1/2. I see Summit has a Raybestos # 2953r but they are saying 3 1/2 wide. Could be a typo? has anyone used these? I can order them and return if not correct. The sales guy said the application is for a 70-74 RR. Thanks.

So I picked up a Crusty 8 3/4 for cheep, supposed to be out of an A-body NOT. It is complete drum to drum with a 741 case and a 3.91 tag, looks to have never been apart. Tore it down to a bare housing and started measuring. I used the sticky chart as a reference. Here goes, flange to flange is...
First My set-up, 68 B-body with 71 pin type calipers and 11 inch rotors. 11 inch rear drums. Manual master every thing is new. The car stops well with the rears locking on wet pavement with HARD braking. Running a NAPA Tru-stop TS-781 made in china pad. Lots of dust and fading after numerous...
