    Identifying a reverse rotation crankshaft - with pictures

    Just sharing some knowledge. I heard a lot of nightmare oil leak problems caused by wrong type of crankshaft purchase. The knurling from a reverse rotation Marine crankshaft will force oil out of the rear seal. If needed you can have the knurling removed and use a Viton seal. Take a look.

    Camshaft journal size

    Looking through some old cams to have reground, lost hope with todays metallurgy. I noticed a different journal size, particularly on the front journal. At first I thought is was a hemi camshaft, but the lobes are correct for B and RB not hemi. Is this just a manufacturers difference?

    Did a mock-up for the 72 Charger. I extended the bracket to fit an RPM manifold. Do I have to extend the solid bar that goes down to the transmission?

    To Mill or not to Mill?

    Was a good running motor with no leaks. Pits are outside of the fire ring. Im more concerned with the coolant hole. Blocks been milled .020 before. To clean it up its going to need another .020. Really dont want to mill it again. Any ideas?

    Carter fuel pump leaking. HELP!

    Purchased a new Carter Super pump last year for my 440.Car ran great, then it sat for 8 months. I started it yesterday and the bottom gasket was pouring out gas. Someone told me the check valves can freeze up. Anyone familiar with this?

    Big block mechanical camshaft 3 bolt. Mics out to be around .510 lift. looks like 1960 stock. Crower help line has not helped. Any ideas?

    Picked up a standard bore 69 440 for $100. It had a broken motor mount ear. Did a fix with nickel rods. Looks like it will work.

    Torque Converter ID....HELP!!

    Picked up two torque converters.Both from a 440 motor. One appears to be a 9" and the other a 10". 9" is marked as follows SPTWSM and 4843891 on the front and C30293 on the back. 10" has very little on it, have to remove some paint. Im thinking maybe FTI? Thanks !!

    Strange Oil Sender Fitting

    I was taking apart a 67 440 HP and found this strange fitting. Has provision for a sending unit and a mechanical gauge. Is this a stock piece? Thread broke off the bottom, but I can braze a new one back on it.

    Help Identifying Two 340 blocks

    Picked up two 1973 340 blocks. I cant figure out what the identification numbers mean. Both are January 73 castings. The black motor appears to have been rebuilt at some point.
