1973 Charger build: Grandma 318 column shift AC car to a 440, 727, 125hp nitrous shot old school muscle car.
About this Mopar:
100% home built old school hot rod by myself and my friend Chris Grace. 1978 440, 727, & 125 shot nitrous. Paint is rustoleum flat and semi-flat, and single stage enamel gloss in the engine bay. 3.55 Sure grip 8-3/4 with dual 2-1/2 exhaust. Bumpers were converted to 71-72 style. The entire car was put together for less than $2k using a lot of left over parts from previous projects including the bumpers and brackets, fenders, hood, engine, driveshaft, and rear glass. Parts bought were a transmission, headers and full exhaust kit, nitro plate kit (added after pictures), schumacher conversion motor mounts, carb, B&M shifter, windshield, and misc. gaskets and installation parts. This was Chris's daily driver which I inherited after his passing, RIP. It has since been updated with an aluminum radiator and gold slapstick shifter and console.
Starting point with the 318 already pulled:
Tackling minor rust:
New old fenders needing work, but not rusty!
Not sure what we were doing here, but apparently an unpopular task?
Celebration of the end of block sanding!
Semi flat laid:
Making progress:
Laying down the flat:
Q. What's it gonna look like?
A. Looks like Rock and Roll!
Donor engine low compression motor home with mild 906 heads, mild cam, and Eddy intake:
Presto. Drop it in on Schumacher conversion mounts & Hooker Comp headers:
Ready to rumble:
"Hell yea" I believe was the quote:
Chris stomping on it:
Hey! Got an award.
