Beater I drove for a couple of years while restoring my 67 Satellite

I bought this car back in 1989 from an older man in W. Palm Beach, FL who couldn't see well enough to drive anymore. It was listed for sale in the local Pennysaver classifieds. Mechanically it was on OK shape - needed a tune-up and some TLC, but the body was a bit of a frankenstein. It had obviously been in an accident at some point and whoever put it back together used body parts off a '66 - right front fender, deck lid and tail lights. It had a nice-looking 2-tone dark/light blue interior that was in decent shape with only a few tears in the vinyl seats along the seams. I used this as my daily driver for a couple of years while I was restoring my 67 Satellite. I kept it going with old parts off the Satellite, but eventually it needed more work than it was worth. I was able to park it on a friends property for several years. I didn't have anywhere to store it when he moved so I stripped the parts I could and junked what was left.
This car was originally sold to a construction company in FL . My guess is that was originally for a salesman or manager. It was a pretty dependable car for a few years. I don't remember the mileage, but I think it was just over 100k when I got it. I actually liked driving it because the 318 had some pep, it screamed "I have no brakes...or insurance" and I didn't have to wash it because you couldn't really tell it was dirty. People in expensive European cars, and there are a lot them in this area, tended to stay as far away as they could and would think twice before pulling out in front of me which was just fine by me.
