70 Roadrunner

Working slowly on bring this car back to life. It’s been too long dormant and stored away. By next spring I hope to have it ready to scare some kids and moms.

About this Mopar:

I got this car from the original owners nephew, and hope to meet the original owner soon. It’s been off the road since 1976, and I would like to be able to pick them up and take them for a ride, to let them know that it’s in good hands.

It’s a very interesting car to me. It has no options at all, and was sitting on the lot for almost 5 months, hiding behind no striping, minimal badging, and 14” white sidewall tires. Nobody bothered to look under the hood apparently, except for the original owner. It came from a dealership known to have a successful racing program, and ironically the same dealership where my parents bought their Roadrunner back in 1970.

It has 71k original miles, all original drivetrain, all original interior and paint, and is a time capsule of sorts. I’d like to do as little as possible to it and just drive it.

So I included a couple pics of the day I brought it home, and one of it cleaned up so far. Much to do, but I got all winter.

Very cool and clean Michigan Road Runner. Have a blast with it.....is it a true 440-6 V code car with an incorrect 383 hood call-out?

It is an original V code 6 barrel car. According to the original owner, this is exactly the way is sat on the lot. That’s why I like it so much, very unique, and nice to get the scoop from the guy who bought it new.

That’s my dream. ‘70 Roadrunner, perfect color, a dream motor, wow!

It was way more car than I thought I would ever get. I’ve been cleaning on it and doing some stuff, and I was very happy to find that it is the original motor as well. Heck, it even has the original H pipe. It’s pretty cool finding a car like this.

You’re humble and grateful to own it. This makes the story even sweeter! I’m waiting for the car Gods to recognize my kindness and humility with a find half this awesome, ha ha...

Yes another one getting saved. Don't do any good to have it just sitting. Hope you get it back into good shape. Got a good find their.

I already have it running and driving, and have been terrorizing the mean streets of my little town, and all towns around me! I also went back to the original owners house and had a day of driving and reminiscing with him.
