I purchased the car about 10 years ago from a friend in NYC. It’s a 1970 Road Runner with a non-matching numbers 383 that has some work done to it. The guy that originally owned the car kept detailed paperwork on everything he did. I have uploaded an image of the newspaper clipping, showing the motor for sale. According to the paperwork the engine was out of a 1970 Road Runner, pretty cool. The guy gave me a ton of original paper from oil changes to tire purchases going back to the 70’s. The car is pretty much stock (no A/C, power steering, power brakes and drums all around) with some minor upgrades, like the motor work. The rear is an 8 ¾ with 391 gears. From what I was told the car was taken off the road in the mid 80’s and put back on the road in early 2000.
Thank you, I was on the fence with the radio console, because I am of the old school and wanted it back to original looking. However, I did own two 73 chargers back in the day and I always had a hand made console for my radio's. I never wanted to cut out the dash and destroy it. So I guess for me it's original.
I picked it up panted already so I am not 100% sure the exact color. I was told it's Hemi Orange, but from what I hear Dodge calls it Hemi Orange and Plymouth calls it Tor Red.
Thanks, I like the old school look. I was thinking of going with Cragars, that I had on my 73 charger back in the 80's but there is something about this look that I really like.
From the looks of it, you are definitely on the right track. That car is looking good. I like the color. My brother-in-law has a purple super bee with white strips and it was always one of my favorite cars.
