Before and after shots 1967 dodge charger

About this Mopar:

I bought my 1967 dodge charger 4 years ago when I was 17. Drove it when I was in high school and had a blast. The car looked good in photos and far away but up close it had lots of problems. The previous owner did a restoration on it in his garage, did all the bodywork and paint himself and did a real hack job. The only thing that was done correct was he had the original 383 bigblock and 727 transmission rebuilt at a shop and I have never had a problem with that yet other than basic maintenance. The rear end is a 8 3/4 with a 4.10 sure grip in it so it does great burnouts. I tore the car apart in April of 2017 to fix all the rust under the vinyl roof and the bad body work. Spent about one year doing the body work, refinishing all of the trim on the car and changing the interior color from white to black. Finished the outside of the car in may, I still have to finish putting the interior back together. I am very happy with the way the car turned out and im happy i didn't listen to all the old farts who told me to repaint it the original copper color and just leave the interior white. For those who want to know I painted it in Mercedes SLR McLaren Silver ( DB 977 ). I also just put on the rear of the car new Magnum 500 15x10 wheels with 295/55r15 Mickey Thompson E/T streets to give the car a meaner look.

Looks great. I like it with the black top better and it works with silver or the copper color.

Nice car. Not all old farts are the same. I would have told you to do what you want, it's your car. It's good to see young people in the hobby.

Actually you are right. The guy who painted my car is 75 years old and he was the first guy to tell me to change the color and I wanted to do black and he suggested silver so thats what I went with. No disrespect to the old guys.

i think you would be very unhappy if you did what other people said its your car it has to be how you want it

Yeah that's right, if I redid the car in the original color combo I probably would of sold it. But now I think I will never sell it, this is the way I always wanted it to look.

I have a 66 and want to paint, but not the off the frame stuff, cant afford it. Any suggestions if you had to do it again? She turned out beautiful. Mine too is a gray ish silver battleship mix. I tried to upload you pics but this b body format is too complicated. I will upload some in the garage today. If u dont mind me asking APPROX how much was it?

Confused. Is the question addressed to me?
