68 roadrunner

my car of 42 years finally getting restored....

About this Mopar:

Year
68
Make
plymouth
Model
roadrunner
bought it in high school 42 years ago.It had a 4spd so I sold my other two 68's to afford this one.I traced its entire life from florida,D.C.,michigan, japan then back here to montana. three owner car. it was all but totaled out in 1978.It crashed through a block wall after being forced off the roadway by an unhappy opponent (mustang). It was pieced back together then and put back on the road, thats when I purchased it. I drove it through high school, then parked it when I got married. 40 years later we decided it was now or never for the bird. It is just about finished with the rotisserie restoration. All the damage has been fixed and the paint will be, as it left the factory, only better. The car is numbers matching and will remain stock as possible.

it is a hardtop. Officially F1 green. Also known as mist green met. or mist green poly. Initially thought it to be TT1, but it was wrecked early on and repainted the avocado. upon stripping...we found evidence of F1. my data tag was not replaced onto the car after a 1981 repaint. So it is going back to original F1.
I've seen a couple F1 coronets and a chrysler also but have never been real fond of the color but its growing on me as the car is now jambed out. the shell and exterior sides of doors trunk etc.. will be painted this next wknd.

I'm partial to the 68 RRs too
current one is #13, RM23 HT
wow thats a keeper! my first one was pretty early too. I dont own it any more but my high school buddy still owns it. it did not have the roadrunner decals on the doors but under the rear seat, it had more than a hand full of orignal roadrunner decals thrown under it. it is a post car, yellow with a green vinyl top. The motor although I still have...it is dated 8-1-67. So its got to be pretty early too.
The avatar I use is the car now being restored in my pictures. That photo (avatar)was taken in 1970 in michigan.
heres something cute, If you could pan over in the avatar photo sitting just in front of the roadrunner is a volkswagen bug....this car was bought so that the wife wouldn't drive the roadrunner while he was away in vietnam!!

It was/is my 13th 1968-70 RR, it was not the 13th car built in St. Louis
I have no idea what # it was in that perspective, it's a Hardtop so it was later
midyear, before the RM23 HT option came out even, mine was from later (?) 1968 IIRC
