My 1965 Belvedere

About this Mopar:

This is my 1965 Plymouth Belvedere 1, she has a 226 slant 6 with a 3 speed on the tree. Long story short, I had received the car as part of an inheritance and as a graduation gift. This car has been in my family since 1968 and she has lived in California her whole life and has never been out of state until June of 2016, which is when I got the car and brought her to her new home in Oklahoma.

The car looks great and has great project potential.

You might want to consider installing a hemi 331, 392, or a 426 backed by 727 torqueflight.

Look up Dragon Lady-I believe she ran a 1965 Belvedere in NHRA Super Stock class.

Great looking car....my personal opinion.....fix or restore it to original specs and appearance. Leave the 225 cubic inches slant six as is...except change the air cleaner (to non heated) to the original era that says Super 225 and remove the hot air stove. The 3 on the tree is great....Remrmber: it's only original once!!!! Enjoy it....
Cheers,

Keep the heated air stove, it will start and run better when cold. There was a reason someone installed it, I will bet.

It looks as if the original engine was replaced. The original engine would have had the PCV system's vent valve located on the rear of the valve cover. The other give away is the engine's color. Engines of the car's vintage would have been red, and the air cleaner did not have a heat stove or snorkel with a vacuum flap value....even California cars....this is b4 the California legislators got crazy with emission regulations.
