My 1972 Dodge Charger

1972 Dodge Charger street and strip car.

About this Mopar:

400 2bbl motor that was changed to a 4bbl. 1969 383 magnum 4bbl. intake at some time. Now has a 1965 383 500 hp.
727 A changed to a 727 HD Cyclone race trans.
Heavy duty race drive shaft
8 1/4 rear 2.45 gears soon to be changed to a Dana 60 (9 3/4) 3.73 Track lock. 35 spline race axels 1350 yoke. Race leafs, adjustable pinion snubber. 11 in drums brakes.

This 72 Charger was found in Pa. .Originally from Scottsdale AZ. No rust car, Numbers matching, It made it to Pa. was repainted the original color and kept in a garage until traded for a A100 customized dodge. I then bought it from the guy who customized the A100. I'm the 4th owner. The car only spent a year and a half in Pa. before I bought it. It's a 2 tag car with 82,000 original miles. Full documentation. I actually got a hold of the original owner who took delivery of the car in May of 1972. The hideaway headlights, the Rallye dash, the molding package, dual race mirrors were all special ordered from the factory. I installed the Rallye tail lights and it wasn't cheap. It's not original to the build sheet anymore. The interior was white and green and was changed to black at some time and a power bulge hood was also installed I have yet to drive the 3 hours to Harrisburg Pa. to pick up the original hood from the 2nd. owner. It was bought with no intentions of restoring it back to original but to replace me very 1st 72 Charger I had when I was 20 years old that unfortunately found it's way into a pole and got totaled. Maybe in the future I will restore back to the build sheet. I'm keeping all the original drive train and rebuilding it in my spare time just in case. This is my 7th Charger ranging from 1970 to 1974.

Beautiful car and (trim). I always wanted one like yours but I doubt that mine would be endorsed by King Richard! I like the big meat on the rear also. I just noticed that you have spinners on your Cragar SS wheels, sweet! :moparsmiley:
