‘68 GTX gets Vitour Whitewall Tires

The twenty year old whitewall Michelin tires needed replacement. After experiencing a right rear blowout on another Mopar last year it was a no-brainer. I wanted to stick with the whitewalls and googled that subject. Basically came up with nothing except these Vitour. I already have replacement BF Goodrich RT on another vehicle that had Cooper Cobra GT that failed. What I found out about the Vitour tires is some are used on cars that compete in “drifting” type activities. The tire I bought were the largest 235/70r15 and were $109 each delivered from California. The tires come from South Africa and it’s a China company. I believe I have that correct. The tires seem to have a better mph rating then others. Here is a photo of the G with the Michelin’s, then the destroyed Cobra. The new tire are then shown as delivered.

Now, well late last year, mounted and installed on the G. It’s nice to know there’s new rubber under my a$$. The Vitour tires do feel great and secure on the few road miles they’ve been driven. Here’s an alternative tire for those looking for whitewalls. Tread photos show the tire size in them.

I've always liked whitewalls - haven't looked for any lately.
My 70 Challenger SE, factory bronze w/ white vinyl top paired well with white walls
I'd like to see comments on these tires also as I'm rebuilding this Challenger and wouldn't mind going back to white walls

I thought others would like to hear about these since ww are not common anymore. I like them with my white stripes. Your color combination would benefit with the whitewalls.

This California company Performance Plus Tire was the only distributer, I believe.
