here is a 1968 GTX 4sp trans

i have the gear box,bellhousing, and shifter. it is a late build and has the hurst console shifter

there is acouple of issues with the trans first the front plate where the throwout bearing rides needs replaced and the shifter rods could use alittle help

and there is a crack in the bell housing which was fixed :icon_sad: looks alright though and shouldnt be seen once installed on car.

That's a hell of a crack, I'm surprised that it was fixed and not replaced.

Was the Bellhousing linebored after the welding ?

That would make for a good run stand housing but that's all I would use it for. That being said I think you have adjusted the price acordingly and it's probably a good starting point. Best of luck with the sale.

I have had a few break like that. It usually happens when the trans locks up which usually happens when a gear tooth gets caught between the main shaft and the cluster. It can get very ugly.

gearbox splines turn smooth i cannot feel any abnormal resistance.
