I know it’s not a B body, but maybe has enough muscle to belong here?
61 Belvedere coupe
Originally a rare SS1 paint code.
Light plum crazy.
I have a 413 from a 61 imperial.
A A745 and pedals from a 61 Fury.
62 inline cast dual quad.
Rare 15 inch 61 police wheels.
Complete 62 Max Wedge exhaust.
Some 1961 time period speed goodies 4 bolt weiend and timing cover.
Nos 1961 Sun 8.5 tach and a 1961 Hurst YoYo shifter
Heater,radio,clock,lighter delete.
My goal is kinda a 1961 golden commando lightweight car.
Here is the car as I first got it.
It was used as a parts car and was on the way to the scrapyard.
I intercepted it…..
It’s pretty solid trunk floor and wheel lips.
Some mild floor and roof rust!

I worked on some today gathering some missing parts together and upgrading some sheet metal and wheels.

If you guys are at all interested I will post progress of project.
If it doesn’t belong here I understand.
I’m going to be building it back up to make sure I have all missing parts and pieces.
Then tearing it back down to start restoration.

Now that is a cool car you don't see everyday! I can imagine parts are hard to come by so best of luck during your restoration. I'll be watching this.

Cool and different. Keep the progress posted on here. I like! Also, there is the For C Bodies forum too. Might find that helpful for locating parts!

So ugly it's beautiful ! Yes keep posting.I'm sure no one will have a problem with such a interesting project.

Looks like a nice save from the scrap yard; can't think of anyone today wanting to crush it. I see another one in the background in one of your photos? These old mopars were a work of art. I'd like to see how your project goes. Thanks

Great car. Bring her back to life i think the color was something lavender. I noticed in one of your photos another 61 two door h top. Call me crazy, but the front end reminds me of the 11 to 14 Chargers, and where the roof meets the quarter the window area also looks like the same design feature of the 11 to 23 chargers. Both cars 11 to 14 Chargers, and the 61 Plymouth, too me, has that "angry" look. Keep us posted on this car.

That is a very cool car... and it has a fastback style roof too. I thank you for saving it, because they are a work of serious mopar art. I also love any old mopars that are different, and this one fits the bill!! I willing be watching this thread.

Yeah, just me, when I look at the late 50's mopars, Plymouths looked pissed off and the Dodges appeared as smiling...or maybe an evil grin. That Plymouth in Christine was a good choice, lol.

Yes, I agree Ron.... that was a 57-58 Plymouth in the movie Christine, I think. It has been along while since I seen the movie.

1958 Plymouth Belvedere, the other cars in the opening of Christine looked like actual Plymouth Fury's, because of the buckskin beige paint, and gold trim. Fury's could not be ordered in any other color. Christine's air filters were chrome, in reality they would have been a gold color. The 350 was in the Fury's, i think you could only get the 318A in different trim levels. I could be mistaken, but Plymouth Fury was never said in the movie.

Yeah, I had a stock dual quad manifold I was thinking of putting on my ’63 Plymouth some years ago. Those gold air cleaners? Guy at a swap meet had them, kind a rough, some serious multiple dents…he wanted…$1200 for them! Maybe today they have re-pops not sure; ended up selling the manifold.

Neat car! Not my cup of tea but I appreciate your efforts just the same.... You've gathered some pretty cool period correct pieces... If you need anything I might know a guy that has a lot of stuff of that vintage....

61s are a unusual acquired taste styling.
When done will look something like this. Only with a few back in the day performance mods.
A rare original color for 61.

Dashboards in the 60-61's were cool. Liked mopar's brief era of the squared steering wheels. I've latched onto a couple of them and going to see what one looks like in my '63 for the heck of it. Might be removed quickly or stay, lol.

Just FYI a 61 aero wheel has a larger diameter steering shaft than 62 in up.
