So here's the real deal on the Fury - acquired recently on a whim. See below.
I have a very solid and original 1962 Plymouth Fury hardtop. This is a running project car, you can work on while cruising. It has the 361 Big Block 275 horse power V8. The car appears to be the nostalgic automatic long arm floor shifter. 49k original mileage car. No evidence of a dahs push button.
Below is the condition.
-The not so good -
-Needs one rocker and both lower quarter patch panels.
-The hard headliner has fallen down
-The trunk lid has two holes where there appears to have been dual rear (not original) antennas. Replace if you can find a trunk lid or weld and patch it and use it.
-Tires are dry rotted but useable for short distances
-One brake cylinder sticks - brakes soft.
-Heater hoses unhooked.
-Front valance has a small workable ding
-Carpet removed to show floors
- All stainless steel is in good shape. All chrome in driver quality condition and needs re-chromed
The Good-
-Original matching numbers motor
-Nice solid floors, frame and body with exception to the aforementioned above.
- All trim is in decent condition. Some chrome may need re-chromed but all stainless trim in great shape
-All glass is good
-Power steering, power brakes AND POWER WINDOWS ALL WORK!!
-Dash is in great shape
-Interior seats in great shape
-Door panels in great shape
-All light lenses in great shape
-Suspension looks like it was redone at some point but tired again
-No fluid leaks anywhere
-Engine runs smooth - no taps or smoke
The car does need gone through and could be restored to a $40k car with a little time and energy. The cool thing is you can drive this car and restore at the same time.
