This is a step by step guide how I fixed my broken heater switch.
since I could't find ane replacement parts I used a new 68 and forward heater switch, and converted it to a 64.

Trying to type text between the pictures, but that doesn't work, can some one please help me so I can continue posting.
Never had this problem before.
I want to be able to se the pictures in the typing area as it used to be, so I can type between pictures.

The pictures and text seems to be all over the place in this thread, but I hope you find this information usefull.

This is old vs new from the inside.

Remove the two pice connector plate on one side of the new switch and replace them with one longer plate from the 64 switch.
In order to make the old fit, you have to cut a slot in the 64 plate.
The picture shows the newer plate ontop of the 64 plate and where to grind.

The new cover has 3 electrical connectors while the 64 has 2.
Drill the lowest rivet and remove the connector.
seal the hole.
solder the removed connector to the right lower connector.


Remove the 5th button you not need, install the 64 sliders in the bew housing.
Reuse the 64 vacuum slider and use the newer style electrical slider.
Screw the cover to the body and youre done.

Putt the cover in some water and wet paper under the rivet to keep the plastic from melting as you solder
