I know in the 70’s you could find vin stamps on the radiator support and other areas, does anyone know where the may be on a 64 Belvedere or was that not the practice yet
In 64 that wasn't the practice yet. [I have a 64 Dodge Polara and a 70 Cuda.] The Cuda has VIN stampings in the radiator support and the cowl, but I have nothing like that on the 64. If my memory is correct, the factory didn't start putting the VIN in various areas of their cars until 1967.
And they are stamped on the radiator support and the left side of the package tray by the speaker opening.
Interesting. Can you tell me where on my 64 I should look for the S.O. number or did MCODECUDA already cover that?
There is the s/o number on the radiator support and on the rear package tray on the driverside back of the tray, near the back window...Chrysler historical or what ever Chrysler/Fiat calls it today can supply you with all the information on your car from that number...I have not done it in many years, there was a small cost involved, but they gave you a lots of info from that number. I am sure someone on this forum can tell you if they still do that , and how much it costs. This turned the run of the mill 64 sedan from just another car....to an actual max wedge lightweight car ...was well worth the time and investment.
https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/fca-historical-services.148681/ This thread covers it. They don't charge anything - even when they said they did they never cashed the checks.
That is correct. I’m sure that it can apply to other years but it definitely applies to 1964 B-bodies except station wagons and possibly convertibles.
I don't have a rear package tray or hard top 'back window' since my car's a convertible. But I'll look closer on my radiator support and see if I can find the S.O. number there. Thanks!!
My 64 was built in late November 63 and is a Lynch Road built car and it has the core support stamping.
