I have a 1966 440 block that didn't pass inspection at my machine shop. The above link will direct you to photos of the block.
The cracks are 1 on each side, near where cylinders are. My machinist says he could probably "pin" it, but since they are near cylinder barrels, they probably won't hold over the long term with a performance build, which is certainly what I aspired to.
I would embed photos in this message, but photohostagebucket is no longer since they now hold your linkable photos for a ransom--but I digress.
$40.00 for this block. I'm only trying to recoup costs for hot-tanking/inspection. It used to be a spider's nest, & now it is only developing surface rust. I just can't bring myself to throw it away yet, and if someone can use it for mock-up or something, I would prefer this land in your truck bed! I'm in Santa Clarita CA.
