I picked up this car at the beginning of the year and am now scouring the internet for parts. I was told to post here from another website to share the restoration experience. The car is originally red with a 383 4bbl and an automatic. The engine and transmission were not in the car when I purchased it but I have another 383 and transmission I plan on freshening up and installing after all the bodywork is finished.

First impressions: Finding reproduction parts for this thing is nearly impossible, I bought the car on a whim as a project and didn't do enough research. I seem to have found all of the patch panels I need but bumpers and trim are a different story. I'll cross that road when I get to it.

So far I've replaced the floor pans that I purchased from www.autobodyspecialt.com and am starting on the quarter panel rust repair I got from the same website (they are pretty rough and body lines aren't nearly as crisp which is what I expected). I wish I had ordered the whole floor as it would've cut down my man hours immensely! This is my first project and that was my first time welding in sheet metal. It was certainly a learning experience.

Feel free to share tips and suggestions, I hope ya'll enjoy!

Welcome. Looks like a good start. Yes some parts are tough to find for the '66 / '67 but they are out there and once completed they are beautiful cars. My '66 was a little rougher outside but my floors weren't so bad. You can see my build thread in my signature. In any case, congratulations on a great car!

I have a 67 R/T but love the 66 coronet 500...you have some expensive parts on there like rocker and wheel well moldings....best of luck with the car..

Looking at the first pictures of your car, i'd say you have your work cut out for you. But seeing the way you put those floors in, i'd say the car is in good hands. Looking forward to seeing what else you can do.

Alright guys I'm back from my hiatus. Thanks for all the kind comments and encouragement. I actually finished most of both quarter patches before August and just haven't had time to get on here and share. I figure I better get them uploaded before school starts back up again or you might not ever hear from me! I seem to have lost a few pictures but I think you'll see most of the process. I had to fabricate all of the inner panels, this was my first time with any sort of sheet metal fabrication so go easy on me. I picked up a metal brake, shrinker, stretcher, and bead roller to help out. This is a learning process for me and though frustrating at times, I don't have too many complaints.

I threw in a 67 Charger I picked up during the summer. Not sure what I'll do with it just yet.

                      - - - Updated - - -

When I uploaded some of the photos got out of order. Sorry for the poor quality on some of them, I'll take a bit more time with my next ones.

You've done a great job! Just took me back to when I had mine at that state. You almost duplicated it to the T! Awesome, keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Glad to see you saving that Coronet. It'll be a nice car when you finish. Nice job so far.

Man that is a sweet ride you have there! Call or email at jeff@501restorations, I can leave you his number in a PM... He will get you the best deals you can get and AMD auto metal direct will or should have your bumpers... Ask Jeff though, if you go thru AMD and pay them the shipping will kill ya man.. Im restoreiing a 69 Road runner and i know what i payed before i knew Jeff and trust me, ill go with Jeff from here on out! I just ordered a outer inner fender and he got it for me in a better way.. Good luck, you have one of the older cars that i for one have always considered sweet, i have a distant friend not far from me that has one that he has kept locked up for years i keep saying im going over and see if he would part with it, its all original with a small block if i remember right but it was a beauty with Key stone wheels on it! ENJOY and again, just realized, Welcome aboard the MOPAR madness! :)
