chrome support piece has two ledges that appears to only let you set glass into the setting tape 1/8 of an inch

Maybe this helps, 67 Belvedere HT as originally installed. Looks to me you're on the right track.

I would cut the tape to length and not let it stick out the ends before trying to set it, it could be holding things up. You may also try a different thickness tape. I've also read of setting them in urethane, but I've never tried that.

I'm not sure, I would need to take one apart to see. I have a 68 Coronet frame in the shop I can check, should be the same. Unless someone beats me to it.

Yours look about right for depth!

I found my 60thou tape worked perfect doing the Bee and yet it was really tight doing the Dart, where 50thou would have worked perfectly .....but I pounded it in good, gasket maker'd the ends and called it good.

Yep, why I loaded it. This is '69, same deal on flip out latches. Can't imagine '67 was any different. I've found stuff in the hardware store plumbing section for tap seals that works as well...

Dadsbee's pics are perfect, and the last one with the pivot gasket is much better that I was able to get. The original seal is two pieces.

I do have a question for the OP, was the lower frame re-chromed?

Something to consider, removing old chrome and sanding and polishing the metal to prep prior to re-chroming, could thin the metal enough so it doesn't have the strength to grip the window tight enough to hold it using tape. I also think I see some pitting on the inside in your last pic that may further thin the metal. If that's the case, urethane could be a solution.

The pivot gasket could easily be made from the window tape and a short piece of tubing. Just make sure to leave a little room in the glass hole for some adjustment. Use Dadsbee's last pic for reference.

Like I said, browse the plumbing section at the hardware store. You might luck out on rubber washers that'll work, as I have in the past.
