Is that stainless trim on the outside at the top of the door and quarter glass for Satellite only? My GTX doesn't have it.

2nd owner GTX

I bought this GTX in 1978 from the original owner, w/40,000 original miles, it was a 440/auto., ps pwr drum brakes, non A/C buckets/console, I was 17 when I bought it, it was completely original, I ran it at Lions drag strip completely stock w/a 3.23 one legger, it managed low to mid 14's (traction limited)
I later swapped in some 3.55's w/a sure-grip, an Edelbrock intake/Holley carb, and cracked into the 13's, but decided to leave it at that, because it was my daily driver.

it also had a small feature in "Guide To Musclecars" in 1983.

the picture is from 1985 at a Mopar show in Northern California, (I'm sitting at the back of the car) notice the black GTX above mine, that was a Hemi auto.car the guy was just putting it back together after a repaint "factory black car"

I sold the car in 1987 to a local guy (he still has it) and lives about 10 miles away, and is still all original w/90,000 miles, the only thing he repaired was the drivers side seat, that split at one of the seams.

Mine is a 1967 Satellite, originally a 318 but now sports a 440/727. I ordered a 440 badge, I don't plan to badge it up as a GTX, but rather the Phantom 440 Satellite they never made just to confuse people — and I am going to upgrade the drive-train and suspension throughout the summer months before I go back through the motor...so it'll basically be a warmed over GTX in Satellite trim come summer 2011.

All body/paint/trim is factory. It was a pretty good find imho.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that it is. I am trying to find the same thing out as I'm restoring a '67 GTX and using a Satellite as a donor car. I'm using all of the chrome/stainless trim from the Satellite, and was wondering what to do with those pieces. I've yet to find a GTX with the trim, so I can only assume it's Satellite only. Either way my car doesn't have any evidence that such trim was ever there, so it isn't going on.

Purchased new by my brother 7-31-67. 4 speed matching number, all documentation, bill of sale, window sticker, first license plate, all registratons since new. These two pictures were taken 42 years apart.
