What is the largest 15 inch tire I can get into my 2 dr Belvedere? I am aware that the tire size is very limited on the 1967 B body's so I am considering a cheater slicks for extra traction. I also am aware that cheater slicks are for racing only. My engine being a 426 hemi with tons of torq and don't want to burn my tires up in two weeks. Mind you I do not plan on burning them up on every stop light..... just for the feel of the torq when I down shit to a lower gear then a hard acceleration threw the gears. I do not want to tub the car either.

I am open for suggestions and options if there are any. Mike

I have a 245/60/15 on a 15"X 8" rim and it's tight. I believe 255 is the largest but will likely rub if you go over anything uneven like a steep driveway entrance.

Great stance on your 66, and just love the black with red.

I have 235/60/15 on all 4 corners. My rear clearance is about 1/2 inch w/ my Weld draglite 8 in wheels.

Wheels back spacing is critical to prevent rubbing.

I guess I did not say I will be using standard 15 inch rim by 7 inches with doggy caps.

I just put 255/60/15 tires on Wheel Vintiques 15x7 steel wheels on my 67 Belvedere. No problems at all.

I can put 275/60/15 on 7" cop wheels on my 67 and they center between spring and fender with disc brake conversion. Will have to go 255/60/15 with my 8.5 Centerlines.

275/60 is biggest with 15x7 and 4 1/4-4 3/8 BS. Or 15x8 with 4.75-5 BS. Tight, but fit. Is a bitch to change tires, but the price to pay to put nice size meats in the back of a 66 or 67.

Yeah, radials. On older rims and 80's diplomat wheels. 20 years and countless track trips. Never had an issue or uneven wear pattern

The trouble is finding a tire that will fit a inch 15X7 rim. Cheater slicks start at 10 inch width.

Probable a back spaced rim that looks stock? do not know if this would work and if such a rim exsists.

Kept a small bottle jack in trunk to jack spring down. Wide tires don't fit between wheel opening and brake drum. Satellite trim on wheel opening makes it worse, you don't want to f it up.

I think a 275 is a bit wide for a 7" rim. It will likely wear out the center of the tread.

I've never had any ill wear patterns. With 32-35PSI.
