When I was in grade school one of our teachers purchased a new 68 charger, 383 2bbl, auto. I remember seeing it parked next to the play ground. He became my shop teacher in high school. He still has the car and drives it about once month. Long story short. He is willing to sell it to me.
It is untouched ecept he pull the vinyl roof off because of cracks. Has rust in the rear quarters, has a small hole in the grille, has the original hub caps. Also has the 150mph speedo. Driver seat is taped, usual wear for a 50 plus year old car. I was too excited and forgot to take pictures.

Any idea on the value of this charger?

Pictures? Really hard to base value on something a person cannot see.

I would say it is worth in the 12 grand to 15 grand range in the current market. See what the asking price is and go from there. If you can get the car in the ten grand or less range, you scored. Bring the cash, because money talks. If you agree on a price, and someone offers more, when the guy let's onto other people that he's considering selling the car, then you will be the odd man out. Bring the cash, and close the deal on the spot.

And a trailer and get the car outta there like vert said above.....you want the deal done quick and final before people can fill his head up with nonsense.

FYI....

Nice. Price? Cool Charger.

That’s an awesome car. Complete driver, solid history. I see junk asking $10,000 ish. Paint and body is always expensive, but not critical (or necessary) in your case. I could easily see that in the $25,000 range. Good luck finding one like that for $12,000.

Man if you dont want it.. Id be all over that like white on Rice..

From what I understand of the market that car is easily $25k. 68 Chargers are arguably the most desirable of all Mopars, and if not are in that top bracket with 70-71 E bodies, Wing cars etc

See what he says he wants for it before you start chucking offers out that may be higher then he originally wants......might be able to snag it for 15K or so given your history with the guy. Being it is complete and not taken apart or touched adds a couple grand easily in my opinion. So many cars come on buckets of parts and are missing so much **** when you go to reassemble. You can easily spend 2-3K extra in missing hardware and correct bolts and fasteners. Good luck and keep us posted.

a green 383 2 bbl car...funny...bitd this would have been an 800 dollar car.
nowadaze 8 grand wont even touch it..
and why are the survivors always green? lol !
looks like a great start, just remember,if you ever decide to change the color the interior alone will cost some loot.
keep that in mind when making your offer.

Easily $20-25K. Jump on it otherwise someone else will & you'll never forgive yourself.

I paid $75 dollars for one that looked just like that in 1984! I would say 12k to 15k would be a deal it would probably fetch 20k on Ebay. Did you ask him what he wanted for the car. Get him to give you a number and go from there.

Well he said a couple years ago he had it sold to a guy for 15,000, but he brought it back. He told me 10,000. Went back the next day to make a final agreement. NOW...he says he has to ask his Son first who is 37. He'll let me know. What the heck. I think I lost it. Thinking of offering 15,000, since he was willing to sell it previously. Worried if i did it might screwup deal.
