hello, For now only available to car owner that this belongs to. I have the following 383 block, see below. it's been sitting in my garage for decades. Maybe someone has this car, and it can be reunited. cast date 7-11-68 pad stamped E383 HP 8 15 serial no. RM23H9A106444 Standard bore jim
guess I should submit it to Hamtramck registry. If the car is still out there, would like to see this go home. Do you know of any other ways? jim
What’s the chance that this block came from the Chicagoland area? A friend has a ‘69 RR that in the ‘80’s he swapped a 440 in place of the original 383. That engine was put in a ‘70 RR but sadly ended up getting wrecked then put to rest in a junk yard in northern Illinois. He’s going to check the title or the vin on the car when he’s able. He has vision issues and I won’t be able to help until this next weekend. Well it’s a long shot, but...
i couldn't say where it came from. Back in the 80's I bought, sold, traded a lot of parts. Chances are it's from Pa somewhere. But you never know! jim
If the car's owner doesn't claim it, much good luck in selling it. I wish my original 1970 F 383 HP block would show up here like yours did!
Darn max426, The stars didn’t align on this celestial match as the vin #s don’t line up. I’m not showing the whole vin because it’s not my car. Thumbs up for posting your offer here. Happy cruising, haywire 440
I’m reminded of the parts, blocks, heads, tons of heavy stuff at Charlotte Carlisle (before the Chrysler/ Ford/ shows, Pate Texas, (who remembers this one lol), Pomona in the 80’s.... I still have business cards piled in an old wood filling cabinet I got from years and trips, to buy and / sell and I tell you, even then, mid 80’s early 90’s, sellers were from all over the country! My point is, that car is probably still out there and could be from anywhere! Hopefully the car / owner will show up! Great thing your doing here!
