I assume you have the car in the air. This is normal for a tight driveline. It won't move when on the ground and the force of the car, due to gravity, will not let it roll on its own...
i had the same problem on truck here at work would start truck, release park brake,and with foot on service brake (brake pedal) put in gear and truck would jerk forward and stall it was the torque converter locked up
is it stalling when your on the brakes ? if not I wouldn't waste time or money on a converter. its normal for the wheels to spin when I park / neutral with the wheels off the ground ...
