Hi I am at a place in my restoration that I need to replace my driver side rocker in my roadrunner. The floor is already out and I am wondering what kind of bracing i may need. I'm one pick I have a brace clamped in showing kinda what I'm thinking to do. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

This kinda shows what I did. I left the center section of the floor with the tunnel in for extra support. Tied the upper door hinge points to the latch points on the jamb. Tied the lower hinge points side-to-side. And the added a some triangular braces to the center.
Probably overkill, but I was paranoid about things moving.
I can say the front hinge pillars are surprisingly floppy side-to-side once they are disconnected from the rockers.
Take lots of measurements beforehand just in case.

Yeah it looks like once the rocker is out it would move quite a bit. That's my worry. There was nothing left of the floor when I started otherwise I would have left it in and did the rocker first. So maybe I could find a couple more braces points to be safe

I get in pretty deep, and not real big on bracing........ I would have welded on a new rocker before removing the floor pan

perhaps you should get the floor pan somewhat welded in before cutting off the rocker

I did the rocker first on this one (notice driver side), the only bracing i did was in between and under the trunk hinge brackets

I would have cut it out first but it was rusted out all the way across in both directions. There was nothing structural that could brace anything with the old for. But I could finish cleaning up the front frame rails and partially mount the front pan as you stated. That may work
