Hi guys,
On my 70 Coronet I have this unusually large gap between the body and bumper. I am sure that it has been pulled on and tweaked at some stage in its life. The bumper needs a re-chrome and I would like to get it straight. If somebody could post up a pic of theirs and a measurement, that would be great.
One other thing. The licence plate lamp holder looks to only have 1/2 inch of clearance from the body. A pic of this would also be great. Thanks in advance.

I took some measurements today. Sorry for metric, its all I had. 30mm = 1 3/16" which I am sure is way too much gap.

from what I see your bumper is bent so no measurement would help you. If rain stops today I can take pics of my Bee for you.

You may need to talk to a plating shop to see if they can straighten that. I’m sure many shops could straighten it and much worse, but some may not want to invest the time or effort in it. Need to ask around. I would cut a template out of plywood, matching the rear width of the body so that they have something to go by in trying to straighten it. Or of course finding another bumper for a core might be cheaper.

Yep that is all good stuff. As I don't have another to compare its hard to see, but knew that there has been some tweaking. I have been looking around at pictures on the internet, but of course the results are varied. Can't beat somebody measuring one for you, so thanks @davek for offering to do that. I assume that it is supposed to follow the line of the tail panel nicely with probably a 1/2" gap?
Yep, I know Tri City plating out of Tennessee.
Good idea about making a template, I will do that when I get the proper distance.
