I haven't owned a mopar in almost 10 years and that was a '73 duster, obviously prices have changed a lot in the last decade or so. I was hoping to get some help from you guys. There is a 70' satellite 4 door for sale near me. Originally a 318 car, now a 440/727. Body is excellent, no rust, paint is pretty good, interior is excellent. Has a few issues, but nothing unreasonable. Manual everything, wiper motor is toast, heater core not hooked up. I'd probably have a better idea of what is fair if it was a 2 door, but the 4 doors are pretty few and far between. What is a fair price for a car in this condition? I know it's worth whatever people are willing to pay, but I have no clue what people are paying right now for something like this. Anything I should look for that would be a red flag, beyond checking for rust/repairs. Any general info on these would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Is it a Sport Satellite? I see it has the taillights. Kool car!

Yes it is

I would've assumed more, if nothing else just from the inherent value of the parts.
All of our cars are worth more as parts. There are only a few special people (like me) who love the 4 doors too. Would you ever buy a running car to sell the parts on it? I can’t do that.

Good point, especially one in that good of shape. I'd have a hard time finding the heart to part that out down the road. I would be buying it as a summer car and something to teach the kids to work on that isn't made by apple. He's asking 12 for it, so I think I'll see how much room there is in that 12. Appreciate the info.

If he’s asking for $12K Canadian, is that like $9.5 US? If so, you aren’t that far apart to start with. Cash is king!

Make him a cash offer. Remember, RV 440s were a dime a dozen. But don’t insult him. It’s a fine dance that I am not super skilled at myself.

I'll figure that's what I'll do. Plus the vehicle being so far north has an expiration date on it getting sold. Nobody is going to want to try to haul it or drive it once the snow comes in earnest.

I live real close to this car. Friend of mine has done alot of the work for the owner. I have not seen the car but can ask my buddy some details. PM me if you want any help. Joe

Insulting knows no borders lol.

I believe that very car was from Michigan near Detroit at one time. I remember it from many years back. It was a very nice car for a crew cab back when I remember seeing it back probably in the 90's sometime.

What year 440 and how was it built?
Receipts?

Honestly most of the value is in the motor/drivetrain.

Did you say what axle and gear?

I see a few hundred in wheels and a thousand-1200 in bucket seats with nice covers.

According to this a 4D in #1 (eat off it and never drive it) condition is 12.7K.

1970 PLYMOUTH SPORT SATELLITE 318-230hp (8cyl-2V) AT
#4 #3 #2 #1
2dr Htp 1425 11650 18700 29900
4dr Sdn 2925 4950 7700 12700
4dr Wgn 5850 10500 14600 24500
Notes:
Add:
383-290hp (8cyl-2V) 20%
383-330hp (8cyl-4V) 30%
4spd manual trans 5%
Air conditioning 10%
Power windows 3%

If it's in the BEST condition it can possibly be in outside of a museum piece 100% all original or 95 point resto, take the #2 price and add the value of the engine and other "upgrades".

You may be in the ball park.

It is one of the best looking 4 door models.
Looks to be in nice shape aside from the few things mentioned.

That's the best looking 1970 four door Plymouth I have seen. Maybe it's the black paint and the rake with those leaf springs. Everyone I see with four doors cars still has the original springs that are flat with the rear bumper sitting on the ground practically.
