1970 road runner stripe question - tail stripe standard or optional?

A guy is trying to tell me the tail stripe was standard on all `70 road runners regardless of having decor package or not and if it doesn`t have a stripe it is deleted, is that true? My `70 has no decor package, medium grade interior and no stripes.

If I recall, the tail stripe was part of the décor option. Not standard.

What he said...Standard with Hardtops and convertibles. Available with A87 decor package on Coupe.

Does your car have an emblem there instead? My low option coupe has the same metal "road runner" emblems on the trunk that's on the quarters, no stripe.

Yes , metal emblem on the trunk lid, no stripe code on the fender tag. This guy is telling me the trunk stripe was standard and would have to be deleted but that is not correct.
