I have completed a restoration on my 1971 Charger Super Bee. I replaced the brake system with new lines and components and am using DOT 5 now.
My metering valve is leaking from the bottom were the plunger rod sticks out. The fittings are all good, no leaking. I have tried a couple of different in-line tube metering blocks. I tried switching parts and different O rings etc. Nothing works. I feel that getting replacements from in-line tube is a waste of time and I think they are the only suppliers if you want a stock / looking replacement.
There was an article on how to fix this problem (either here or a different mopar site) with a .030 machining. I cannot find that article or reply now.
I also wanted to rebuild my old Kelsey Hayes one, but I cannot get one of the old brake lines out. I have tried everything on it.
If I could get an original one that could be rebuilt that may be the way to go.
Anyway, does anyone have a solution to fix this leaking metering valve?

I found with DOT 5 i had to use a ring spanner to do the fitting super tight to seat the taper then take it off & retighten been 2 years now no leaks excellent braking with normal pedal feel brakes were lousy until i used a 9" dual booster

I can try the tighten and retighten method. I have the correct socket to fit the bolt so I can get the bolt good and tight.
Thanks

I had issues on my Charger. I also thought it was the metering pin. I cleaned it and watched closely. It was a line not seating. I loosened and tightened several times and finally got them to seat and seal.
