1972 Plymouth Chassis Service Manual: on page 8-160 (fig. 17 - Instrument Panel Wiring - Rallye Cluster Satellite)
There are two arrows pointing to the red and black terminals of the ammeter and below the arrows is printed "Not used with 60 or 65 AMP alternator". I wonder what is meant by that? I have never seen a factory rallye dash without an ammeter. Or does that note mean something else? And which vehicles could be ordered with such an alternator?
As a side note, my ammeter has never moved since I put my 72 SSP project car back together 03/2015. The indicator needle has always been stuck all the way over to the left (discharge). Haven't noticed any charging problems. Instrument panel is now out of the car for refinishing and I don't see any melted/burned/missing wires either.
On page 8-133:
"Aluminum based bulbs are not approved and not to be used." I wonder what the problem/danger would be with aluminum based bulbs?
