Bought this 1974 Charger a few months ago. 66k original miles. Has been sitting for a long time. A number of things are disconnected and apart. Front of the motor is apart. Fuel system is apart. Brakes go to the floor. All of it seems to be there. I just put in a new cam and lifters and am getting the motor buttoned up for a startup. Just recently found out that I've got a 4.10 posi (489 case)!

Nice. Even still has the rare factory air cleaner. Dang loaded!

Oil pump is now primed, intake on, vale covers today hopefully. Getting ready on the fuel system. New fuel tank, sending unit, filler neck, and mat ready to be installed. Can't find new fuel tank straps for the 1974 so going with the stockers and new J bolts. I'm going to blast the fuel lines out with some carb cleaner and air to see if any junk falls out of the line. The original tank was pretty rusty so hopefully it was just the tank and not the fuel lines. Side note - the 440 Charger did come with a 3/8 sender - it has a 1/4 return and uses the fuel filter that has the 1/4" return built into the filter. Also posting the cam card - I decided on a scavenger type cam because of the lower compression in the '74. Was thinking .509 MP but most of the MP stuff is really old from a spec standpoint. Hopefully this Comp will be a good profile - should be fun with the 4.10s!

That will be a nice cam. Awesome car.

74 + 440 + Sunroof = very, very low production # car, and PW , AC, and triple black to boot. Lucky you... great find!

It's a super cool car. You get a little skeptical these days when someone says "it's all there and original"...but this one kept checking all the boxes. Body stampings are correct and I found the broadcast sheet.

They are still out there to find as you've shown. You just keep the faith.

Just an awesome, special car. Congrats.

The valve covers are on! The timing cover is on! New fuel pump, filer and soft lines are on! Starting on the water pump housing. Fuel tank this weekend!

Absolutely stunning... super badass find...
If you ever score some parts for a 73/74 keep me in mind, I'm dragging my not so complete find home on Monday/Tuesday..73 SE Brougham, but I'm gonna have to give her some love, car's too straight and too solid not to save

I had a black 74 SE charger, it was a factory 400 auto that I helped one of my best friends put a 440 in back in the early 80s, I ended up with it years later and unfortunately had to sell it. It was black with a black interior but no sunroof like yours. That is incredibly rare. I really like your car. Brings back lots of good memories.

That is a very hot cam. Hopefully you're putting a converter in as well? Way cool this is an original 440 car. And I see cruise control as well. Man, this was optioned out. Glad you found it and are saving it.

I'm curious if you can get the correct vinyl top material for the 73-4 SE's?

That's awesome. That material is a pretty big part of the SE package IMO, they just wouldn't look right with a different material.
