1974 Satellite Rear License Plate

keeps falling down so it cant be seen. Is there a fix for it? Do I need to buy a repo or one off another car?

What do you mean, "keeps falling down?" It sounds like you just need some new plastic inserts & screws you can buy at any auto parts store for about $5

No it flips down for access to the gas cap and it wont stay up keeps falling down so you cant see the plate

This sounds like a job for the handymans secret weapon; duct tape!

Be sure to use the glossy silver, not the matte Grey, for that show quality shine, and be sure to smooth out the tape when you do it, because nothing says "poor craftsmanship" like lumpy duct tape

Sounds like the spring has failed or is just sprung, so you can remove the spring rod and try to put tension back on it, but its tricky to get the spring rod back in place with tension on it.

So remove the whole assembly or just the rod? Is there a clip that holds it taunt?

Ok one thing is my spring is not attached to that little clip thing on the metal plate. Any suggestions on how to get it back on there?

Should be pretty easy to either slip it over the tab, or bend the tab up, position the spring, and bend it back down.
