Attention 70 Charger owners!

Hello from the 1970 Dodge Charger Registry!
http://1970chargerregistry.com/

The 2020 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals are next year on July 10-12 in
Carlisle PA.

This is the big one folks and will be a once in a lifetime chance to
gather the greatest number of 1970 Chargers ever amassed since they rolled
off the assembly line as the 50th Anniversary of the 70 Charger is
recognized.

I am working with Carlisle Events to make this a key piece of the 2020
Chrysler Nationals and will post updates periodically so check here http://www.1970chargerregistry.com/mboard/index.php?topic=5696.0 often
to get the latest info. I can confirm I will be there and will be
arranging a 70 Charger Registry club tent as usual to accommodate
the expected attendance.

The online registration for the 2020 show is not yet activated however
when it opens up we encourage you to register your car as soon as possible
so Carlisle Events can track the numbers and ensure we are allotted a
large enough space in the show field for the 70 Chargers to be displayed
together with the club tent included in the segregated area. The majority
will select the 70 Dodge Charger Stock Class with a few others selecting
the 70 Dodge Charger Modified Class. This is primarily for judging
purposes and our expectation is that both classes will be displayed
together in the same 70 Charger area. IMPORTANT: When you register please
ensure you select 1970 CHARGER REGISTRY ( we are an officially recognized
club and at the top of the club list). If you are coming to the show with
a friend with a different Mopar with no club affiliation you can have them
also select 1970 CHARGER REGISTRY as their club....or if you are
registering a tow vehicle so you can park inside the show...go ahead and
select 1970 CHARGER REGISTRY as the club. It boosts are numbers and gives
us more help from Carlisle.

HOTELS:
The majority of the event is at the actual show so which hotel you select
is not terribly important. On Saturday night the plan is to gather as many
as 70 Chargers as possible for a group parade so we can get some video of
these fantastic cars. That will be at the La Quinta Hotel 350 Bent Creek
Blvd., Mechanicsburg, PA. 17050. It is in a perfect industrial area for a
group cruise. See video from a couple of years back (same place).

The hotels are right next to each other but are already booked up. Others
have begun to book at the Park Inn by Radisson 5401 Carlisle Pike in
Mechanicsburg (a short drive from the other hotels) and the Hampton Inn
1164 Harrisburg Pike in Carlisle. It is important to book a hotel right
away so keep checking those and other hotels for availability. If you
reserve a room(s) directly from the hotel (not through one of those hotel
booking sites) you can always cancel at any time and you do not get
charged until you stay. So I regularly keep checking and book new better
ones and cancel old ones. No risk. Strongly suggest you all start checking
and booking hotels right away. Don't delay...you can always cancel later.

One thing we are looking to bring back will be the "70 Charger Registry
car show within a car show" where 70 Charger owners can vote for their
favorite 70 Chargers and we will give out 70 Charger Registry trophies.

Watch here for updates.....but do not delay, book rooms quickly...this is
the BIG ONE.

One year to go....let's kick it in gear!

As previously announced we were planning to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 70 Charger at the 2020 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals July 10-12. As we are all aware and have heard so many times "We are operating in extraordinary times!". With the event about two months out a decision had to be made related to Covid 19.

I regret to advise that the 70 Charger Registry will not be holding this event this year. At this time it appears The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals will still proceed however in the interest of everyone’s safety and recognizing that many of our members will no longer be attending and with the Canadian border shut down it was prudent to cancel our activities planned for this year. As such the 70 Charger Registry will not be attending, however individual car owners may decide to attend the show if they wish.

At this time we will explore holding the event at the 2021 Carlisle Chrysler show in hopes that things will have returned to a more normal and safe state....and give members more time to finish those restorations nearing completion.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and look forward to an even greater show in 2021.

Check the 70 Charger Registry message board for updates as time goes on.
