reason I say this is;
my 67 Satty has the optional 26" rad, and there's really not a panel on either side, its basically the entire rad support that fits the 26" rad.
My 66-300 was cut on the pass side also. Just as a FYI, when Cr8crshr [member here] went from a 22" to a 26" in his 66-300 he didn't bother cutting the opening and didn't have any issues with cooling at all. I guess the larger capicity had something to do with it?
