I know when I was looking before, the P-S-T's were $400+. I know Firm Feel uses rebuilt factory units for the 16:1/20:1/24:1 boxes they sell, but they literally cost double at $550/ea with a factory core (if not, $200 core charge).

Our manual boxes are new production (no cores) and the new pricing for the 16:1 box is $299. This box is most popular ratio selling over 160 so far. Please remember to use your members discount and as always shipping is free within the US 48 States.

            Thanks

Hello, I realize this is older thread, however interested in a new manual steering box for 69 RR, 383 4 speed, with factory manual box now. I dont know anything about ratios, ie:
24:1, 20:1, or 16:1.....which would I want to have better steering over factory manual?
              Thanks

              Hello,

The factory steering box was a 24:1 but an option during the era was the 16:1 fast ratio. The 16:1 will require more effort under 5 mph (parking lot situations) but over 5 mph is not an issue and will be quick and responsive.

              Thanks

Ok....that's info I needed. I certainly dont want it harder to turn under 5mph, already hard now!
              Thanks

Go 16:1, there is no reason not to if someone is accustomed to manual steering already. Dramatic change, remember to use the 11/16” c-body tie rods & adjuster sleeves as another basic & inexpensive upgrade.

How do you tell which ratio you have? (Manual)

koosh, i'm guessing but here it goes if you have a 24.1 from dead center turn the wheel until it comes to stop if you turn it 5 turns its a 24.1 if you turned it 3.5 turns its a 16.1. like i said just a guess

That is definitely an easy up grade, also do solid tie rod adjusters.

Use the same pitman arm, nothing changes except the box.
