275/60/15's

Yes, with room to spare. Here’s my 67 coronet which has much smaller wheel wells than the 72 charger with that size tire.

295's fit, so yes a 275 will slip right in... lots of folks here running 275/60's on their Chargers...

Are you all using 15 inch rims, if so, what back spacing are you using for the fronts and rears? I'm planning to have wheels made to fit my 10" dogdish hubcaps. Thought about 15x7 in front with 7" back space and 15x8 with 7 1/2" back space for the rears. Any suggestions? Thanks

My suggestion is to recalculate. Those backspace measurements won't fit anything.

I'm using 15x7 front, 15x8 rear. Don't remember the backspacing. I'd have to see if I can find the paperwork that came with the wheels over 15 years ago. As I remember, it was more like 3 1/2 front and 3 3/4 rear.

I agree with all other postings! I just put a pair of 275 X 60 X15 Mickey Thompson's on my '65 Coronet 500. They are mounted on 8" American Torque Thrust D's. I have a good 1" to spare on the inner fender lip side and the spring side. You could go wider I think. ....It would depend upon your wheel size and back spacing. P.S. Got the Mickeys from JEG'S for $143 each delivered....thought that was a good deal.

FYI, Just installed MT ET Street Radial 275-60-15 DOT slicks mounted on American Torq-Thrust II 15-8 with 4.5 backspace on my 66 Coronet. Good 1/2 to 3/4 inch of space between the inner quarter panel lip and tire, lots of space between inner wheel well and tire. No wheel well trim on my car, inner lip was rolled in also. Just sharing in case it might help someone on buying wheel/tires.

How did you go about rolling the inner lip?

It had been done by a past owner. When I got under the car and started checking how much space I had to work with I notice the inner lips on the rear had been rolled (probably done when car was painted in 2016) Drove the car about 5 miles today with the new tire set up and no rub problems with the new larger tires in the back.

Love the look!

275/60/15 has a 9” wide tread and fits best in a 9” wide wheel. Most use 8” wheel because that is more common, but if your having custom wheels made...

I agree, The MT 275-60-15's on my Coronet have a tread width just under 10 inches.
